What is lock bumping?
Bumping is a break-in method that uses a specially cut “bump key”. Inserted into a normal cylinder and tapped, it makes the internal pins jump for a fraction of a second, and the lock opens. It is fast, silent and leaves no signs of forced entry — which also makes insurance claims harder.
What is an anti-bump lock and how it works
An anti-bump cylinder is built to block that trick. It adds special pins, extra security elements and precise mechanisms that stop the pins jumping the way bumping needs. Good anti-bump cylinders usually also include:
